Utena is one of those series that one either gets or one doesn't. Blade being one of the former group, he greatly appreciates the series in a myriad of ways. The plot, the characters, the symbolism, the twists and turns of director Ikuhara's latest strokes of genius/acid-induced hallucinations...but here is where we concentrate, first and foremost, on the art.
