When, how, from whom and why precisely B.B. Hood gained her formidible combat skills, bloodthirstyness, and exceptional greed for wealth is unknown. All that is sure is that at an extremely young age, she is precociously advanced in all three areas. She is a "dark hunter", a human being who stalks the creatures of the Makai universe in order to harness their unnatural body parts and internal fluids for sale to a variety of consumer interests. Since even the weakest sort of creatures in this category can often decimate entire platoons of modern soldiers, this is no mean feat.
Even within her very exclusive and lethal field, B.B. Hood is recognised as a prodigy, and one of the highest-ranked hunters. Her gaze alone can terrify many creatures of the night, and she is able to shrug off many sorts of mental attacks by will alone. Part of her resistance to darkstalkers stems from how vile and corrupt her heart is; indeed, a unwary observer might easily mistake her spirit for that of a monster's. She commands an impressive array of all sorts of weaponry, ranging from combat knives to rocket launchers. Many of these she makes or at least customises herself, and all of which she practices with near-constantly. The amount of weapons she can carry at one time is not particularly limited by her actual physical strength and size; in fact, she conceals all of her arsenal in a small, innocuous-looking picnic basket and under her red cloak and skirts. In strength, speed, durability, skill and all other physical statistics, she must be considered to be well above normal human limits, though not likely so much as a true martial arts prodigy like Ranma. However, she compensates for any physical advantages with sufficient amount of high explosives, dirty tricks, and sheer brutality.
As can be guessed from the above, B.B. Hood is not precisely a person whom one would wish to meet in a dark alley. Or even a lighted alley. Or a lighted, well-crowded street. Monsters are terrified of her with good reason - she is far scarier than most of them. Her major loyalty is to herself and her pocketbook, followed somewhere thereafter by her few companions and her beloved grandmother. She also has a small dog, named Harry. While not precisely a ravening psychopath - she generally only attacks when there's something in it for her - she is largely amoral, and certainly not someone to cross.
