Hinata Wakaba

To say Hinata Wakaba is a very energetic girl is an understatement. She taught herself martial arts via the unorthodox method of correspondence courses and books on the subject (including one written by Ken Masters). Her energy is so overwhelming that she often gets so excited about events that she can't sleep the night before, but this doesn't stop her, as she can easily stay up for days straight. Hinata is full of school spirit, and in fact while she is a member of no particular club at school, she will help out any club during a competition and is so skilled that she often leads her team to victory. Her habit of engaging in two or three of these competitions a day can lead to her over-exerting herself, but she hardly cares. She also violently dislikes brawls and has been known to personally beat up all the participants of any brawl on campus (including, at one point, the entire Judo club).

Hinata was annoyed by the violent incidents and disappearances at her school, and disappointed with the police's inability to deal with it. She recruited Batsu, Kyosuke, Ran and a few others to aid in her investigation of the events surrounding the kidnappings. Despite having no personal stake in the events, Hinata proved a valuable addition to the team and aided in the final defeat of Hyo and Raizo. Recently she has been trying to reform Batsu from being a delinquent, a difficult program considering she hardly sets a much better example than he does.

Hinata is an excellent martial artist despite her training methods. She has the standard martial artist's superhuman speed and strength and can create short range blasts of energy and flame with her kicks and punches. One of her most easily overlooked assets is how well she works in a team. Her boundless enthusiasm and energy is infectious, and her allies often fight much better than they would as individuals.
