Kiima

To the south of Mount Kensei, in the shadow of which lays Jyusenkyou, is Mount Phoenix. Once upon a time, its inhabitants were normal people, but the great spring in the centre of this mountain comes from the same source as Jyusenkyou. The people of the mountain drank from this spring, which many birds also drank from and drowned in, and gradually over time the people became a strange mixture of human and avian.

Kiima is one of the greatest warriors of the Phoenix people, and bodyguard (in fact, if not in name) to their ruler, Saffron. This a role she is rather well-suited to, as aside from her martial prowess, she is absolutely loyal to Saffron, and will obey his orders without question, no matter how strange. Personally, she carries herself with a haughty, arrogant bearing which is only thinly overlayed atop a violent temper. This violent temper most frequently comes into play when she is vexed by the incompetence of her subordinates, especially Koruma and Masala. While not actively malicious, she's more than happy to hurt or kill on Saffron's orders, and she will remember anyone who wrongs her. She is fairly intelligent and a clever soldier, capable of successfully carrying out undercover missions or coming up with roundabout means to achieve her aims when a direct approach proves to be impossible.

As a warrior, Kiima is a force to be reckoned with. The considerable advantage of her natural ability to fly with great speed and agility cannot be underestimated, but even beyond that, she stands out over her peers. She has a powerful attack called "Suichou Senzan Yoku" (White Sea Bird Thousand Wing Attack), where she flaps her wings so fast as to send out dozens or hundreds of small chi or vacuum blades that can cut through virtually anything; this is a powerful distance weapon, but of more limited help up close, as the blades fan out from each side of her body. She usually prefers to avoid close combat as she is not particularly durable, but when forced, she carries a curved sword for close-in fighting; in desperate need, she also has bird-like claws on her hands and feet. She also possesses the ability to talk to and command birds to do her bidding, and can raise entire huge flocks of them if necessary. Finally, she habitually carries one of the weapons of Mount Phoenix, eggs fashioned from the shell of the egg their god-like ruler Saffron transforms in. These eggs rapidly expand to cover anybody they are thrown at: aside from making the victim helpless, when the egg hatches the person inside will become the willing servant of whomever they first make eye contact with (similar to how a new-born bird 'imprints' the first creature it sees as its mother).

It is also quite likely that when splashed with cold water, Kiima will become a human version of herself, as Phoenix people habitually use Jyusenkyou to achieve this in order to spy on human populations unnoticed. Her combat ability in this form is unknown, but she would certainly be weakened.
