Kalia fanart?

Well, yeah. Sort of. You can tell Blade's desperate for content when...but anyway, it is fanart of a sort, and it's a kawaii lil' SD-Kalia too. Not to mention kawaii lil' SD-Blade. I'm not sure which of those are more disturbing.

Anyway, quick version of the story behind this or anyone who's interested: in May of 2000, Blade went to Africa (more specifically, Ghana) in search of computer-related work (really). He was well on his way to fame and fortune until about 10 minutes after he arrived, at which point the authorities at the airport found out there was a problem with his visa and promptly booted him out of the country. And, lest you think these guys don't have a sense of humour, they booted him, not back to Canada, but in fact to ENGLAND, which is located on an entirely different continent, which as you may imagine kinda killed the idea of hitchhiking home.

Anyway, the minimanga parodies that incident, done by good friend Talen. As it turns out, that was only the beginning of Blade's exciting African adventures, which involved as-yet-unidentified diseases, getting his pelvis smashed into itty bits by a truck, and spending five weeks in the hands of African military medical "care". 'Tis a wonder he is still here to speak to you in the third person today.
