Now, seriously, Street Fighter Alpha was grotesquely bad. Video game-based anime, especially those based on fighting games, are incredibly hit and miss, but Street Fighter Alpha was such a clusterfuck I honestly wonder what the hell they were thinking. Ryu's brother, Dan only cameoing, no plot, Ryu's brother, no Bison, lame-ass original villains in his place, lame-ass Ryu's brother, Sakura being a total useless loser, Birdie being a hero for some unfathomable reason and last but not least, RYU'S FRICKING BROTHER THAT COMES OUT OF NOWHERE AND IS DEMONICALLY POSSESSED OR SOME SHIT AND WHO FRICKING CARES?

But there is one bright, shining moment. Aside from Vega's cameo, that is. And that bright spot is five minutes of absolute joy as Zangief goddamn fricking PULVERISES Ryu's goddamn brother. Seriously. There is five straight minutes of an enormous hairy homosexual Russian dude with no dialogue brutally beating the fuck out of a kid that could fit into one of his boots with room to spare. Then - and this is the great part - the kid gets up, and he's all like "GWUUUOUUHHH!" and glowing evil and shit, right? And then Zangief BEATS HIM UP SOME MORE! And stomps on him! It was glorious.

This is from shortly after that, when he's scared crapless by Ryu's fireball. Which made it well worth getting, even if his eyes were closed. It has a douga for completeness' sake.
